President Biden's son, Hunter Biden, appeared in a Little Rock, Arkansas court on Friday for a deposition in his ongoing child support dispute with Lunden Roberts, the mother of his 4-year-old daughter, Navy Joan Roberts. The case stems from a 2020 paternity agreement and child support arrangement established after Roberts filed suit in 2019, following Navy's birth in August 2018. A judge definitively confirmed Biden's paternity in early 2020.

Roberts' presence at the deposition was noted as unusual. A source speaking to the Daily Mail suggested it could be a strategic move, making it more challenging for Biden to be less than truthful. Biden currently pays $20,000 in monthly child support, a figure he's seeking to reduce. Last month, Judge Holly Meyer expressed frustration with the slow progress of the case, urging both sides to expedite the proceedings.

Judge Meyer also previously criticized Biden's legal team for excessive redactions of his financial records, suggesting the practice was being abused. Adding another layer to the legal battle, Roberts' lawyers are pursuing a name change for the child to carry the Biden surname, arguing the name carries significant weight in terms of educational, professional, and political influence. Biden's counsel has countered, demanding justification for the name change being in the child's best interest.

Roberts' attorneys have filed a contempt motion against Biden, alleging dishonesty about his income. The Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports that Judge Meyer has scheduled a July 10 hearing for Biden to address the financial questions and defend himself against the accusations. Furthermore, Roberts' lawyer, Clint Lancaster, is reportedly pursuing criminal contempt charges, which could potentially lead to jail time for Biden.
