Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker is heading to the United Kingdom for a week-long trade mission aimed at strengthening economic cooperation between Illinois and Britain. The trip kicks off with the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where the Governor will engage with automotive, energy, and industry leaders, emphasizing Illinois' commitment to electric vehicle manufacturing. Following the festival, Gov. Pritzker will join a delegation of officials in London to explore collaborations in manufacturing, clean energy, technology, and higher education.

The Governor's office highlighted the importance of showcasing Illinois as a prime location for business and investment. Pritzker stated his commitment to promoting the state's strengths, including its skilled workforce, robust manufacturing sector, growing electric vehicle ecosystem, and ambitious clean energy initiatives. The delegation comprises over 40 participants, including key advisors, representatives from the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, Intersect Illinois, University of Illinois President Tim Killeen, and individuals from various sectors like manufacturing, hospitality, and utilities. Funding for the trip is being shared between the Governor's office, Intersect Illinois, the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, and individual delegation members.
