Tech billionaires Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg are gearing up for their highly anticipated cage match, and recent training updates have fueled the excitement. Musk engaged in an "impromptu training session" with Lex Fridman, a scientist at MIT, who praised Musk's strength and skill. Fridman shared photos of their session, capturing moments of grappling and a hip toss. While expressing admiration for both Musk and Zuckerberg's martial arts pursuits, Fridman hopes they prioritize training over the actual fight.
Musk also accepted an offer to train with UFC legend Georges St-Pierre, further demonstrating his commitment to preparing for the bout. This training comes after Musk admitted to not having a regular workout routine, though he has experience in judo, Kyokushin, and street fighting. Zuckerberg, on the other hand, has trained in Brazilian jiu-jitsu for over a year and even won an amateur tournament.
The idea for the cage match originated on Twitter following a discussion about Meta's development of a Twitter competitor. Musk playfully suggested a cage match with Zuckerberg, who surprisingly accepted. UFC President Dana White confirmed the seriousness of their intentions, predicting the match could be the biggest fight in history, breaking pay-per-view records and raising substantial funds for charity. White estimated the potential revenue could triple that of the Mayweather-McGregor fight, the current record holder. Musk proposed Las Vegas as the venue, specifically the UFC Octagon, but a date has yet to be determined.
