Former NFL star Randy Moss recently shared a personal health update with fans, revealing he was diagnosed with cancer and underwent surgery. In an Instagram livestream, Moss declared himself a "cancer survivor," expressing gratitude for his medical team and the support he received. He described spending six days in the hospital and detailed the cancer's location in his bile duct, between his pancreas and liver. Moss acknowledged the unexpected nature of his diagnosis, stating, "I didn't think I would ever be in this position, as healthy as I thought I was." He stepped away from his ESPN analyst role on "Sunday NFL Countdown" on December 6th to address these health concerns. Moss expressed his intention to return to broadcasting once his health permits, stating, "As soon as I get healthy to get back out with guys, I will be on set...Hopefully I can be with you guys soon. My goal is to get back on television with my team." Earlier in December, ESPN released a statement confirming Moss's temporary departure from the show, emphasizing their full support and anticipation of his return. Moss initially alluded to his health challenges on the December 1st broadcast, requesting prayers and support from viewers. During a FOX NFL Sunday broadcast, several of Moss's former New England Patriots teammates, including Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski, publicly expressed their love and support. Brady conveyed his ongoing friendship with Moss and offered prayers and positive energy, while Gronkowski added a simple message of love and support. Moss, a 2018 Hall of Fame inductee, played 14 seasons in the NFL with various teams, including the Minnesota Vikings, Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans, and San Francisco 49ers. He holds the second-place spot for career touchdown receptions (156) and set an NFL record with 23 touchdown receptions in 2007 with the Patriots.
