Fiji's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism, Viliame Gavoka, confirmed the incident and stated that authorities are investigating the possibility of drink tampering.

As of Sunday, five of the seven individuals have been discharged. Two remained in stable condition in the intensive care unit earlier that day, but were expected to be discharged later after further medical review.
