Former professional wrestler Edward Annis, better known as Teddy Hart, was taken into custody in Titusville, Florida, on Friday, facing two felony drug possession charges. Police records indicate Annis was found to be in possession of MDMA (ecstasy) and another controlled substance without a valid prescription. He also received a traffic citation for allegedly running a red light.

The 43-year-old Annis comes from a prominent wrestling family. He is the nephew of WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart and the late Owen Hart, and the grandson of wrestling patriarch Stu Hart. Annis signed his first WWE developmental contract in 1998 at a remarkably young age, training at Dory Funk Jr.'s facility. However, his initial stint with the company was short-lived. He was re-signed in 2005, appearing in dark matches and competing in developmental territories like Ohio Valley Wrestling and Florida Championship Wrestling before being released again in 2006. Beyond WWE, Annis has wrestled for numerous prominent promotions, including Ring of Honor, NWA Total Nonstop Action, Major League Wrestling, and AAA, and has continued to compete on the independent circuit. This isn't Annis's first encounter with the law regarding controlled substances; he has faced similar charges in the past. At the time of this report, no attorney is listed for Annis, and he was released from jail on Saturday.
