Footage captured by the Columbus Dispatch revealed a massive throng of fans jubilantly occupying the campus shortly after Ohio State's victory. The Dispatch reported that the crowd surged into the stadium just after midnight. Freshman Thomas Schmansky described the scene to the Dispatch as "surreal." Another student characterized the celebration as "exuberant" and expressed surprise at the supportive presence of campus law enforcement.

The festivities reportedly began to subside around 12:20 a.m. ET.

This victory marks Ohio State's sixth national title. The championship win comes after a regular season marked by challenges, including a home loss to Michigan that cast doubt on their playoff prospects and the future of head coach Ryan Day. Reflecting on the win, Day acknowledged the team's resilience in overcoming adversity and proving doubters wrong. He praised the players for their unwavering determination throughout the season.
