In a recent interview, Austin-based orthodontist Karin Cain revealed that James Toliver Craig, the Colorado dentist accused of poisoning his wife, had been deceptive about his marital status. Cain, who was dating Craig, stated she was unaware he was married and would have ended the relationship had she known the truth. This revelation comes as Craig faces first-degree murder charges for allegedly poisoning his wife, Angela Craig, with cyanide and arsenic. Angela Craig suffered a seizure on March 15 and was later taken off life support. Cain met Craig at a dental conference in February, and he claimed to be in the process of a divorce, mirroring her own situation. According to the arrest affidavit, Craig began poisoning his wife just days after meeting Cain. Cain described feeling a strong connection with Craig, though their relationship was never consummated. She flew to Denver to support him after Angela Craig's seizure, unaware of his alleged involvement. Cain expressed shock after reading the arrest affidavit, denying any involvement in a future plan with Craig. Their brief three-week romance has now placed her in the middle of a murder investigation. Angela Craig had experienced several unexplained illnesses in the weeks leading up to her death. The investigation began after Craig's business partner alerted authorities about a suspicious potassium cyanide delivery to their dental practice. Investigators discovered Craig's online search history included queries about lethal doses of arsenic and its detectability in autopsies. They also found evidence of multiple poison orders. Craig is currently held on a $10 million bond.
