Former CNN correspondent Saima Mohsin has filed a lawsuit against the network, alleging discrimination following an injury she sustained while on assignment in Jerusalem. Mohsin claims she was dismissed unfairly due to her injury and also cites race and disability as factors in the alleged discrimination.

The incident occurred while Mohsin was covering the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. According to reports, her cameraman accidentally ran over her foot with a vehicle, resulting in severe tissue damage that has significantly impacted her mobility and ability to work full-time. Mohsin has openly discussed the lasting effects of her injury, including chronic pain and exhaustion.
Now freelancing for Sky News, Mohsin alleges that CNN failed to provide adequate support following her injury. She further claims that prior to her termination, which occurred three years after the incident, she was told she didn't possess the desired "look" for the network. She had reportedly requested a presenting role to minimize travel demands due to her injury.
Mohsin expressed her disappointment with CNN's handling of the situation, stating that she risked her life on numerous assignments with the expectation of support from the network, which she believes she did not receive. CNN has contested the claim, arguing jurisdictional issues based on the terms of Mohsin's contract.
