Tragedy struck on Christmas Eve in Pima County, Arizona, where a Good Samaritan was found deceased near a burning vehicle. Deputies responded to reports of suspicious activity near North San Pedro River Road around 1:20 a.m., according to Fox Phoenix. The incident appears to be linked to a stolen vehicle report. Investigators suspect the individual who stole the vehicle had requested assistance from the victim, identified as 53-year-old Paul Clifford, regarding car trouble. Clifford's family reported him missing when he didn't return home.

Clifford's body was discovered near the smoldering vehicle on a remote dirt road, described by Deputy Adam Schoonover as difficult to access. A GoFundMe page for Clifford remembers him as a compassionate individual with a "huge, caring heart" who left his home to help a stranded motorist and never came back. Clifford's daughter, Sabrinna Vining, confirmed the tragic news on Facebook, stating that they had tracked his truck to Tucson, where it was found by police. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with this incident.
