Groundbreaking UFO Disclosure Act Gains Momentum with Bipartisan Support

Created: JANUARY 24, 2025

A landmark piece of legislation, the Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) Disclosure Act of 2023, has been introduced with bipartisan backing, promising unprecedented transparency regarding government information on UFOs. Championed by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and supported by Senator Marco Rubio, the act aims to declassify existing data and establish procedures for future public disclosure of research findings.

Ryan Graves

Former Navy fighter pilot Ryan Graves, the first active-duty pilot to testify before Congress on UAPs, lauded the legislation as a pivotal advancement. He highlighted the act's establishment of an oversight board with subpoena power, capable of compelling testimony and recommending actions to the president. This board would operate under a presumption of disclosure, prioritizing the release of information unless deemed a matter of national security.

Schumer emphasized the public's right to learn about technologies of unknown origin, non-human intelligence, and unexplained phenomena. The act seeks not only to declassify past findings but also to create a system for ongoing transparency in UAP research. Rubio echoed this sentiment, stressing the need for greater understanding of UAPs and urging executive branch cooperation.

Furthermore, the act addresses the crucial aspect of witness testimony. Graves, now executive director of Americans for Safe Aerospace (ASA), announced a new initiative to support commercial and military pilots who have encountered UAPs. This program aims to provide a secure platform for these individuals to share their experiences, addressing the lack of formal support and the potential professional repercussions associated with coming forward. Graves stressed the urgency of this issue, citing daily UAP encounters by pilots and the need for serious attention from Congress and the public.
