Fox Nation's Nancy Grace dissects the evidence against Gilgo Beach killings suspect Rex Heuermann, highlighting potentially overlooked clues and emphasizing the need for a thorough search of his property. Appearing on "America Reports," Grace pointed to a witness's description of a man matching Heuermann's physical characteristics and his distinctive Chevy Avalanche as significant pieces of information that could have expedited his apprehension. The witness reportedly saw victim Amber Costello with an individual resembling Heuermann not far from where the bodies were discovered. Grace questioned why this information didn't lead to an earlier arrest, given the suspect's unique vehicle, a Chevy Avalanche (discontinued in 2013), and his proximity to the crime scenes.
New York prosecutors expressed satisfaction with Heuermann's apparent surprise at his arrest, suggesting he had been closely following the investigation online but hadn't anticipated being taken into custody. Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney, speaking on "America's Newsroom," explained that the grand jury was utilized to maintain secrecy and prevent Heuermann from realizing the authorities were closing in. The 59-year-old architect and father of two is accused of murdering three of the four women known as the "Gilgo Four" and is the prime suspect in the fourth woman's death.
