Netanyahu Lauds Trump's Pro-Israel Stance in Washington Visit

Created: JANUARY 27, 2025

In a recent Washington D.C. visit, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with key U.S. figures, including President Donald Trump, marking a notable shift in the two nations' relationship. The new administration's rapid implementation of pro-Israel policies has been a central point of discussion.

During an upcoming interview on "Life, Liberty & Levin" with Mark Levin, Netanyahu commended Trump's leadership and its impact on the U.S.-Israel alliance. He described Trump as "the greatest friend Israel has ever had in the White House," emphasizing the president's role in strengthening the alliance and his broader leadership in America and globally.

Since his return to office, President Trump has taken several significant actions concerning Israel and the Middle East. Prior to his inauguration, he issued a strong warning to Hamas regarding hostages in Gaza, leading to a subsequent release facilitated by the Biden administration. Furthermore, Trump lifted a hold on the delivery of 2,000-pound bombs to Israel, a shipment previously paused by the Biden administration due to concerns about civilian casualties. Netanyahu characterized Trump's decision as immediate and decisive.

Netanyahu also highlighted Trump's actions against what he termed the "corrupt" International Criminal Court (ICC), which has targeted America, Israel, and other democracies. Trump recently sanctioned the ICC for its investigations into Israel, including an arrest warrant issued for Netanyahu related to alleged war crimes during the 2023 Gaza conflict. Both the U.S. and Israel reject the ICC's authority.

Trump's plan to rebuild Gaza, announced during a joint press conference with Netanyahu, involves taking control of the Gaza Strip, dismantling weapons, leveling destroyed buildings, and fostering economic development to provide jobs and housing. Netanyahu expressed support for the plan and reaffirmed Israel's commitment to collaborating with the U.S. on Middle East policy.
