A grim discovery unfolded Tuesday morning in a west Las Vegas apartment complex where three individuals were found deceased. A suspect is now in custody following what authorities are investigating as a triple homicide. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to a call around 9 a.m. and encountered a maintenance worker, aged 50, with non-life-threatening stab wounds to the head. The injured worker reported being assaulted by the suspect in the complex's courtyard, near the leasing office. The suspect was apprehended by officers and found to be in possession of a weapon described as similar to a sledgehammer. While the motive remains unclear, preliminary investigations suggest two of the victims resided in the apartment and may have had a prior acquaintance with the suspect, who is believed to be in his 30s. The incident began when two maintenance workers were requested by the leasing office to conduct a welfare check on the apartment. Upon entering with their key, the suspect allegedly attacked them. One worker managed to escape and contact emergency services. Tragically, authorities believe the other maintenance worker was killed inside the apartment, where the bodies of a woman in her 80s and two men in their 40s were also discovered. The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the victims' identities pending notification of their families.
