Former President Donald Trump recently revealed the contents of a letter left for him by President Joe Biden upon his return to the Oval Office. The letter, discovered with the assistance of Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy, offered well wishes to Trump and his family for the next four years. Biden's message emphasized the importance of the presidency and expressed hopes for prosperity, peace, and grace for the nation. It concluded with a prayer for God's blessing and guidance for both Trump and the country.

The exchange of letters between outgoing and incoming presidents is a long-standing tradition. Trump described Biden's letter as "very nice" and "inspirational," highlighting its positive and encouraging tone. He expressed appreciation for the sentiment conveyed by Biden. This instance is unique as Biden is the first president to write a letter to both his successor and predecessor, given Trump's non-consecutive terms. Trump had also left a letter for Biden, the contents of which Biden has chosen to keep private.

The discovery of the letter came after Doocy inquired about its existence during Trump's signing of executive orders. Trump initially wasn't sure if a letter had been left, but subsequently located it in the Resolute Desk. He jokingly thanked Doocy, suggesting it might have taken years to find otherwise.
