Following a weekend marred by violence and multiple shootings, Carson City Saloon in Pittsburgh has made the difficult decision to temporarily close its doors. This marks the first time in the establishment's 17-year history that such a measure has been taken.

The bar announced the closure in a Facebook post on Monday, expressing concerns for the safety of both staff and patrons. The post cited the ongoing unchecked activity on Carson Street as a key factor in the decision, and expressed hope to reopen in mid-August for the start of football season.

Owner Brian Vetere, who established the saloon with his family, shared his frustration with Fox & Friends First, highlighting the escalating crime over the past two years. He emphasized the need for city officials, including the mayor's office and police, to implement effective solutions to address the problem.

Local reports indicate a fatal shooting occurred near the bar early Sunday morning, followed by another incident involving gunfire just an hour later. Vetere revealed that his brother was working at the time of the first shooting, adding to the family's concerns. He criticized local officials for what he perceives as inaction despite their pronouncements, emphasizing the urgency of addressing the public safety issue.

Vetere stressed that the issue transcends politics and is fundamentally about ensuring public safety. He expressed a desire to see an end to the violence plaguing the area.
